For as long as there have been construction projects there have been eagle-eyed members of the public monitoring developments from the sidelines, offering opinions and observations to the professionals on the job. Filling an indispensable role in the real estate development ecosystem, sidewalk superintendents have been lionized, demonized, welcomed and ejected as they ply their trade in the canyons of the city.
The New York Sidewalk Superintendents Society brings together construction professionals and aficionados, establishes best practices, offers sanctioned tours of the City’s most interesting construction sites, provides a wealth of resources for those who would like to learn, and presents a coveted annual award to the year’s best project as chosen by our members.

Assistant Super membership in NYSS is available to anyone who was ever curious about what happens behind the mysterious construction shed. You'll be able participate in forums and conversations with other observers of the NYC construction scene, ask questions from industry professionals, subscribe to newsletters and alerts about projects underway across the city, and receive invitations to exclusive construction site tours and events throughout the year.
